Create simple membership sites using WordPress

Tuesday the 18th

You’ll probably agree with this statement: One of the best ways to earn a residual income on the Internet is by creating a membership site where people have to pay a monthly fee in order to get access to the content or service provided.

For many people, the setup of such a membership site has simply been too complicated or too expensive to get you started. Scripts like the Butterfly Marketing Script seem to be very expensive (around $500 for the digital version of the package) or intimidating to set up for some of us.

And even a membership script like Amember can easily cost close to $150.

You probably still want to create a membership site but you don’t know where to get started… Well, there is an alternative that provides all you need and is relatively easy to set up compared to other scripts out there: It’s WordPress!

Yes, there’s a possibility that you can create a membership site simply by using WordPress as your membership platform. And it makes perfect sense because apart from a blogging platform, WordPress also is a CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM.

The URL I am about to show you offers you access to all the details on how to set up a membership site for monthly profits (just like I have with my Niche Content Websites membership site) plus you also get to see how to put everything into practice in the form of videos.

This is what you will be getting with this package:

– Videos (How to run a membership site using WordPress)

– A Membership Script (Membership Millionaire)

– A Manual (Awesome Membership Riches)

– A report (How to create small niche membership sites
for instant Paypal cash)

Are you someone who can solve problems?

Friday the 14th

Niche marketing at its’ best helps to solve real problems that real people have to live with every day. If you can come up with a product or service to promote in a niche market that will help people solve their problems then you will easily be able to build a money making niche website. Apart from that, you also can quickly build a long list of potential subscribers and customers.

The things that people view as “problems” are opportunities for you… everything from bad breath to a bad golf swing to a chronic disease are problems where people are looking for help to get it solved.

A good way to find out what people consider a problem is to visit different online forums. People talk about anything and everything online. They discuss subjects that they wouldn’t talk about with their best friends for the simple reason that they can stay anonymous. They look for solutions online for the very same reason.

By visiting forums and taking note of what people are most concerned about, you can search the Internet for products and services that will help them solve those problems. Gather information about the topic.

Write or have something written for you e.g. articles about the niche topic. You can find a topic and build a content-rich website for your niche that helps with the problem you have identified and that will serve the needs of people.

Solving other people’s problems and giving them info that will make them e.g. happier, healthier or richer will be the key to your online success within any niche.

An additional way to use forums is to post questions which will produce many responses. You can then use these responses in your ebook on the topic. The fact is that many people will buy an ebook that is filled with information they could easily gather for themselves, pre-supposed they’d have the knowledge about Internet technologies and doing proper reasearch.

Most people simply don’t know how to find what they are looking for. They will also purchase ebooks that will tell them what other people with the same problem think about or what they are doing about their common problem even if it cannot be completely solved.

The only thing that’s still left for you to do is to put your product up in front of them…!

Rags To Riches Story: Meet Paul Potts!

Friday the 7th

I heard about this guy, Paul Potts, yesterday when I followed the links in one of Mark Hendrick’s (of 12 Days to Christmas fame) emails.

It’s a great story from the UK TV show “Britain’s Got Talent”. The audience expected nothing special from this cell phone salesman, Paul Potts, until he brings them to their feet with an amazing performance of an extremely difficult opera song – Puccini’s “Nessun Dorma”.

It’s unbelievable but within two minutes he shows more emotion than all the contestants combined. Usually, I’m not a big opera fan but even I had to watch this video a number of times and it brought tears to my eyes in the same way it happened to Mark. I just couldn’t help it…

Here is Mark’s email:

————————

Hi Detlev,

I was on a phone call with David Perdew a little while
ago and told him about a video of a guy who put a smile
on my face and tears of joy in my eyes.

Repeatedly.

(I’ve watch this video about ten times now, and it
happens every time

Granted, this guy is not in the same artistic league
as Luciano Pavarotti (you may have heard that he died
recently) — as an aside, in one of my earlier careers
I worked with Pavarotti, but that’s another story for
another time.

But I tell you what, I’ve listened to this young man
sing in this video and got more from his rendition
than ANY other I’ve heard.

(and I don’t really like this kind of music much)

He doesn’t look great, he’s kind of awkward, and lacks
self-confidence (can anybody ever relate to that?).

This amateur gets before the crowd and ‘hits a grand-slam
home run in the bottom of the ninth’ and wins the ball
game in my opinion.

As you will see, there are a panel of judges listening.
One of which is notorious for his negative comments,
but not this time — and rightly so.

Here’s the link, there is one video on this page and
at the bottom is another link to the followup video (watch
both for the full story, the first one gets me
everytime

Here’s the reason I’m sharing this with you:

It’s a real-life example of dreams coming true with hope
and hard work and persistence paying off…and when his
preparation met his opportunity, sparks fly!

I love it!

Paul Pott’s first appearance:

They bring him back:

The show finale (wow):

AND…

He makes a news story on the TODAY show in America too:

And here is his MySpace page:

Here’s a link to the English translation of the lyrics,
but you don’t need to read the words to understand the
emotion of the singer (just watch the video few times):

Feel free to pass this email along to your friends, they
could use a lift, I know they will appreciate you thinking
of them too.

As always, my best to you –

Mark Hendricks

——————————————

If that didn’t touch your heart then I don’t know what will. As I said, I’m not into opera but I love hearing great voices and melodies and Puccini’s “Nessun Dorma” certainly has to be one of the greatest songs within that genre. It’s so full of emotions.

As I said in my email already: This just proves the fact that EVERYTHING is possible (“Whatever the mind can conceive and believe… it can achieve.” – Napoleon Hill, Think & Grow Rich) and that making a dream come true is not as far out of reach as you might think… It’s a true story about how hard work and persistence can pay off. This is true not only for the music business but for anything you do, especially in an online business.

Have a great weekend and I hope, I have shared something with you that will “make your day” and inspire you in the same way it made my own birthday even more special. So thank you, Mark, for giving me that wonderful birthday present – it was really appreciated (even though it was not intentional)!!

Detlev

Set priorities and achieve your goals quicker

Thursday the 6th

Often times, it’s hard for those of us in business to really keep things organized and moving forward smoothly. Specifically projects…

As your business takes off, you will find the things you’ve done in the past get you buried. And it’s hard to figure out what should be done before what…

When I’m planning my projects, I try to prioritize them based on a few things:

1. How much time will it take?
This is especially important when you are first starting out. You want to focus on things that are going to line your pockets the fastest because you need to pay the bills! You also want to make sure you can do it along side everything else you are doing without making anything else suffer.

Or you will have to decide if something else should be sacrificed to do this new project…

2. What will make me the most money?
Again, money isn’t everything, but it sure helps… especially in the beginning. You can always do charity work later.

3. What will make me money the quickest?
Money again? Yeah, well money is what makes the online world go round. So try and find a good opportunity and direction for yourself that will get you from rags to richest in a reasonable amount of time.

4. What am I excited most about?
If you can concentrate on things you are excited about first, that is optimum. You will find more energy for it and will be more passionate about it… in turn you will probably get to a positive cash position faster!

5. How will it affect the whole as I roll it out?
Will it take away from other things that I am doing? You don’t want a project to consume you so much that something else that you’ve worked hard on suffers…

6. Can it wait?
All of us should have short term and long term strategies and goals. You can’t do everything now. Focus on what will get you where you want to go fastest now… reserve the other stuff for later…

There are more things that go through my head, but you get the idea. What is most important and what will get me there the fastest?

This is so essential in the beginning! You have to make sure you are doing all you can to make money if you want to survive.

It’s very easy to get rapped up in things that don’t…

You are the captain of your ship. You are responsible to navigate that ship and make sure you stay on course to the land of the riches (your goals). To not get stuck on a sandbar.

Remind yourself of this. When you are sitting at your computer or whatever looking at a list of things to do, look at it from a monetary standpoint. What is most important for my business now? What can wait?

That’s the monetary approach you should take, but from a management standpoint, you also must consider what needs to be done in the course of your business…

Before anything else, take care of the customer.

You can go after all the new business you want, but ALWAYS take care of your new, current or established clientele or customers first! If you lose one, it will cost you more to replace them than it would have cost to keep them…

1) Customers always come first…

2) Then the general management and routines of your business that keep your ship running smoothly…

3) Your prospects & lead follow ups…

4) Then developement and projects…

This is by no means a complete list, but it should give you some ideas.

It should at least make you think about your actions everyday. Everything you do will have an impact on your future and will have an effect on your success or failure.

Think about it!

What does it take to work from home?

There are a lot of factors involved in succeeding online. It all depends on your chosen path. What do you want to do online to make you money? You can’t be hunting down every single opportunity. It will get you nowhere. Your decision and your success all depends on your unique skills, experience, knowledge and talents.

There are some things you can do that will increase your chances in any given opportunity…

Continuing Education:

If you decide to pursue a business online, you must understand the consequences. The only way you are going to make it long term, is to build a habit that will serve as a guarantee against “being left behind or missing the boat”. You must continuously learn.

Always be reading e-Books, articles and news related to your efforts. Hang out in forums, ask questions, and stay tuned to what’s happening in the online community (but limit your time which you are spending there). This is so important. Understand, you could have received a Masters degree in some tech area 10 years ago and much of that knowledge is useless today.

If you decide to pursue an opportunity online, you must accept that you are in a technological environment. Just like anyone in an electronic, computer, or programming field you must always stay on top of the technology (or more specifically, information).

Marketing alone changes all the time. New ways of doing things are born and old ways die daily.

It is also important to stay educated to avoid doing the wrong things. If you don’t have your smarts, someone will lead you in the wrong direction and it will ultimately destroy or cripple your business.

Spread the risk:

You can choose one opportunity, but build a structure around that opportunity that will support the change of seasons.

Market your product, service or website using several different methods to secure your long term objectives. For instance, don’t only focus on Search Engines Optimization (SEO) or Pay Per Click (PPC) Advertising. Add e.g. viral marketing, article marketing and affiliate marketing to the mix.

Search Engines change their methods continuously. You could be ranked on the first page of the search results one day and be out of sight the next. It’s a guessing game.

Pay Per Click is similar. PPC is actually rather new and something could come along to replace it. It doesn’t take long for the flock to change directions; only a few sheep need to start…

You can also pursue more than one opportunity. You can sell digital products and physical products. At the same time intertwine affiliate programs.

Do not take this as me saying not to focus your efforts into a niche. You don’t want to be too spread out. I’m just saying not to put “all those eggs in one basket”. Of course you don’t want to have too many baskets either; don’t neglect the good eggs by having too many to keep track of!

Stay Organized:

Organize your time and activities. Organize your data by putting my PromoBuddy Internet Marketing Software into use! Focus your time mainly on the things that are going to make you money.

Too many people get caught up in the details. Instead of goofing around and fine tuning your site endlessly, do the things that will ultimately generate income. You want to be spending a good amount of time marketing your product or services.

Spend your time creating content for your websites, writing articles, creating products and getting inbound links. Create alliances and joint ventures with others. Don’t try to do it all on your own. You need to have LEVERAGE!

Organize your week:

For example: You’re going to spend Monday writing content for your website and you’re planning what needs to be done during the whole week. Write everything down on paper. Tuesday could be for getting backlinks to your site(s). Wednesday you focus on list building and all the things that can get you more subscribers, Thursday you’re spending your time on article submissions and setting up new Google Adwords campaigns etc. etc. – you get my drift …

You can break each day, week or each month down into all the tasks that need to be done to achieve your long term goals.

Build a system and stick to it:

Don’t get caught in the trap of hanging out in some forum. It may be a way to generate some income, but you can get so rapped up you stop doing other things that will make you more money in the long run.

Also organize your life, your office, your paper, your computer…. Pick up a copy of “Getting Things Done” by David Allen. You’ll learn a lot about how to get your life organized.

Expect to Slip and Fall:

It’s part of your plan. When something goes wrong, embrace it!

This is how we learn. Everyone goes through this learning curve. There are a lot of things that are going to happen before you are going to succeed.

In sales there is a certain thing understood: It will take “X” amount of “No’s” to get to a “Yes”. You expect and welcome the “No’s”, because you know it brings you closer to the “Yes”. It’s a numbers game.

Many people get frustrated when their first website fails. They read a book and they discover it doesn’t change their lives like it was supposed to.

Understand that the opportunities are the same for everyone, but they don’t work for everyone. You have to find YOUR opportunity. It will, however, take some time to get your arms around it. You will, most likely, slip sometimes. You may fall and have to start over. But now you have that experience so build on it! BUILD ON YOUR EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE.

Become a business person:

You don’t need a college degree. You can educate yourself. There are thousands upon thousands of books and ebooks you can read. Go to your local library and read them for FREE. Download free ebooks.

A well rounded person online must have some business skill or knowledge. You must understand how business works. This is a business. You must understand how it operates, the risk factor, and have a business plan.

Again, you don’t need a college degree. But make it a habit to read books related to your field and business. It will sink in over time. Combined with the experience you are getting, you will grow into an online business expert.

You don’t need to have a business background to succeed online, but make it a part of your future focus. Set time aside. It won’t hurt.

In Conclusion:

Many people on the internet will give you the illusion that their opportunity is all you need. It’s not to say their opportunity is bad, they just are selling it. You need to come in knowing how to use it and integrate it into your business.

There is more to it, but these things I highlighted are often overlooked. As more and more people come online each day looking for opportunities, it is necessary for them to be lead in a direction that will benefit them, not bring them down.

One failed opportunity can discourage anyone. But if you are prepared for that result and expect it… embrace it even as this will build up your own experience. Your chances of success dramatically increase!

Good Luck in All Your Endeavors,

Frank Bauer
