I’m leaving the Internet Marketing Scene because…

Dear Reader,

You never know how your life turns out to be and what changes are about to come – sometimes, you can have all the success in the world and still feel as if there’s something missing…

You see, I’ve been in Internet marketing for the last 7 years and I guess, I’ve seen it all with regards to products and services that can be offered online. This in depth knowledge also lead me to a point that I no longer enjoy teaching the same “old hat tactics” over and over again. To be honest, I’ve become kind of bored by it.

In fact, because most things never change in this business, I thought it’s time to make a change myself and get out of the “teach IM business” rut and instead focus more on my other businesses… A big change has taken place for us here in Germany: Clickbank now has German order pages meainng, it’s finally possible to sell German products and have an instant integrated affiliate program.

That’s where I want to come in: If I can be one of the first to come up with lots of digital products, I can become very well-known – to a much higher level than internationally where I am just one of hundreds or even thousands of successful Internet marketers. And it will get really easy to find tons of affiliates for these new products.

And I am rather on top of something new than always somewhere in the middle (more success than low level marketers but never at a level of a Mike Filsaime, John Reese or a Stephen Pierce). I’ve come to the conclusion that the best thing for me would be to just “do my own thing” now and focus on the German market for info products by having new products created for this emerging market.

This also has a very big advantage for me: I won’t be losing 20-40% of my income just from the conversion from USD to EUR like it has been the case for the last 2+ years in which I have been building my English business. Focusing on the German market will let me have a stable income in my own currency.

But since I’ve built my English business to a very good level of success, I don’t want to let it “die”. I’ve come to an agreement with a very dear friend of mine who will be taking over my business affairs and I will introduce you to him in my next email.

It means that you won’t be losing the support for my Promobuddy and best of all: He has plans to re-vive my Niche Content Membership Website and make it stronger than ever! You’ll be able to get new niche websites on a regular basis and your questions will get answered. He also has his own range of products that I know you will be interested in.

So stay tuned for my next email and get to know the person who is going to take over my business and all of my IM related websites (Ethicalinternetmarketer.com, Promobuddy.com etc.!

Most likely, you will already know him, though, because he’s very well known, too …

To Your Success,

Detlev Reimer

P.S.: This business transfer will be finished by Dec. 5, 2008.

I agree with you on the decision to serve your own country’s market. I know this is a big decision and I believe you will be getting more success in the future, both for yourself and fellow marketers in Germany. Wish you all the best.

  2. Detlev Reimer says:

Thanks a lot, Edy. I really appreciate your comment!

  3. Gerda says:

    Hi Detlev
Great decision and i wish you all the best with your project. Yet hope to hear from you again in the future as i am Swiss. I personally think it would be great to have more good marketers in the German speaking part of Europe supplying products for the needs we have in the German speaking part of Europe. This is certainly a big future market. Maybe finally we have the opportunity to sell some excellent info products in German Language!!
    All the best.

    Hi Gerda,

Thanks for your feedback. I’m already active in the German IM scene. If you let me know your email address, I’ll send you the link to my German blog. I always enjoy getting new native contacts…

    Thanks again,

    Detlev

  7. Micheal says:

Hi Detlev, sounds like a good decision to me. I germany will be a good future market for internet products. Is it possible Detlev to set up a web business in germany without knowing the language? Do you know of any people that can help with this?

  8. Detlev Reimer says:

    Hi Michael,

Thanks for your feedback. I don’t think it will be possible to set up a web business without knowing the language, though. This is because if you want to sell a product, you also need a salesletter. And that salesletter has to be in the native language, of course. The product itself needs to have German explanations, too. Maybe, I could help you but then I need to have more details on what you want to do and what topic it will be about…

You can still contact me here to discuss things (until Dec. 5th):

    Hi Detlev,

I was very pleased to see ClickBank turning to the German market as well and I think you’re right – big potential for the early birds quality marketer and software developer like you.

Though I will not quit the international market I will focus more on the German Info Product Market myself and of course I’m waiting to see you products to promote it.

Btw. I’m in the middle of creating our new White Hat Internet Marketing Forum which should become a quality place for German marketers and I hope to see you there as well

    Anyway we’ll keep in touch

    Hi again:

I just have to say this probably for all readers and commentors.

Just goes to show what a class act Detlev is – he’s responded to every comment. How far and few between this caliber of marketer there is online today.

  20. Hi Dev,
Sound like you have something that successful online marketers have -Focus – and the ability to aim at a specific target.

When I aimed my business, squarely at my own country -things took off – I am sure the same will happen for you as your countryman see you as the leader in your country.

I enjoyed the quality of your products- and would like to work with who even is taking over- I have plans for future niche content products, which may fit with what is coming up.

Please pass my details on as i like to work with ethical, driven, quality business people

    Paul

  21. Detlev Reimer says:

    @Larry: Thanks again

@Paul: Yes, I am sure this is the right step for me. There’s hardly any competition here… I’m also glad to hear that you liked my products. I will do as suggested and pass on your details to the new owner.

  23. Detlev Reimer says:

Thanks for your wishes, Ray. (I had to shorten your answer because of your extensive use of links within the post, sorry…)

  24. Ruth Shultz says:

    Hey Detlev,
I think you are making the best situation for you. I believe you will probably be much happier if you are not quite so bored. The idea of not loosing your profit in currency conversion is probably sane thinking on your part. I wish you nothing but the very best luck in your work in the New Year!
    God Bless,
    Ruth

  25. Detlev Reimer says:

Thanks Ruth. I am wishing you all the best, too!

    Hello Detlev,

You are among the best marketers I know of online, and I knew from the start that you are honest, ethical and you provide excellent customer service. I have no doubt that you will take over the German market with whatever you choose to produce and promote, because they will also see your quality products, service and that you care about people.

I will miss you and I wish you every success and a prosperous, healthy and happy life whatever you do! Thank you for being a part of my online world for the past few years.

Wishing you the best in life and God’s blessings,

    Donna Maher
