Start with the end goal in mind and work your way backwards.

Which steps are needed to get there? Complete these steps one by one. If you know what it is that you really want, it will become much easier to get there!

Do you want to sell digital products?

Do you want to sell physical products?

Do you want to create a membership site?

Do you want to build websites for Adsense income?

– Which of these do you REALLY want for yourself?

Yes, you can make tens of thousands of dollars by sending out one email. But not before you have invested your time, your resources and your sweat to let this happen. The big guys did not get to that point in a week or two, either.

Even though they sometimes make you believe it…

What is needed to make a fortune “overnight”? You know, the one where you can send out the email and make yada, yada, yada.

Let me summarize for you what “overnight” in reality means:

• You need to come up with a great idea for a product and you need to know if there’s a demand for it.

• You need to create the product (either your own or one that you have private label rights to and which isn’t being sold by hundreds of others already) – starting with an affiliate product is not recommended at this stage.

• You need to build a big list of people who are interested in what you have to offer.

• You need to win their trust by giving them great content or a great resource like a membership site or a piece of software that makes their life easier.

• You need to build a website which sells the product.

Building a website includes:

• Having a web editor and being able to use it (e.g. FrontPage or DreamWeaver)

• Writing a salesletter

• Getting testimonials

• Getting professional graphics done

• Implementing a payment processor like Paypal, Clickbank or a shopping cart solution

• Installing an affiliate tracking system

• Installing a helpdesk software

Making the sale to your list includes:

– Knowing how to use autoresponders

– Knowing how to use tracking software

– Knowing how to write profit pulling emails

– Knowing what subject line to use

– Knowing what time to send it

After you have done all of the the above, you will probably be able to make a lot of sales to your list – depending on the list size and responsiveness of your subscribers. Then your “overnight” day has finally come. It can take anywhere from 3 months to 1 year or more to get to that point.

Once that step is completed and you have done some followup emails to your list as well, you need to contact potential JV partners to multiply your efforts. You can only make so many sales to your own list. Because, it will soon be saturated and you need more prospects…

You have to realize that an online business means work as well. Not pushing some buttons or joining the latest pie in the sky MLM scheme with “automatic spillover”.

Most webmasters know that Adsense generates a sizeable source of additional advertising income. That is why most of them are going after high paying keywords…

They have huge lists that tell them what the keywords are and have already used various methods of identifying them. And yet, after putting up these supposed-to-be high paying keywords into their pages, the money they expected to come rolling in is not really coming.

What is it that they are doing wrong?

Having the pages is with the proper keywords is one thing. But driving visitors to those pages is another matter and often the factor that is lacking.

Structuring Your Site Navigation The Right Way

The thing is, to get visitors to your high paying keyword pages, you need to optimize your site navigation.

Stop for a moment and think about how visitors are using your website. After a visitor has landed on a certain page, they have the tendency to click on another link title that sounds interesting. They get there because of the other links which appear on the page that they initially landed on. This is site navigation. It is all about enabling visitors to navigate through your site. And this also is one way of maximizing your Adsense earnings.

A typical website has menu links on each page. The wording of these links is what grabs a visitor’s attention and gets them to click on them. Thus, they will be taken to another page within that website. Links that have “free” or “download” included in the link text are oftentimes good attention-grabbers.

This navigation logic can also be applied to driving traffic to your high paying pages. There are some websites that are getting a lot of traffic from the search engines, but have low earnings. The trick is to try and use cleverly labeled links to get the visitors off these low paying pages and navigate them to the higher earning ones. This is a great way of turning cheap clicks to real dollars.

Before you begin testing if this technique can work for you and your website, too, you need to have two things:

Something to track and compare and some high earning pages you want to funnel your site traffic to. An option is to select a few of your frequently visited pages. This is ensuring fast result to come by.

Now, the next thing to do is think of ways to get visitors viewing a particular page to try and click on the link that will take them to your high earning pages. Come up with a catchy and unique description for the link. Think of something that people do not get to see every day. That will trigger their curiosity enough to try and see what it is all about.

Graphics Grab Attention

You can also use graphics to grab your reader’s attention. There almost is no limitation to what you can do to get your link seen. If you are after the success of your site, you will do everything it takes just to achieve that goal. Just be creative. But do not overstep the guidelines of the search engines.

Also remember that it is all about location, location and location. Once the perfect attention grabbing description has been achieved, you have to identify the perfect spot on your page to position that descriptive link to your high paying page.

There is nothing wrong with visiting other websites to see how they are going about maximizing their site navigation. “Hot pages” or “Most read” lists are very common and overly used already. Get to know the strategies many websites are using and try to come up with your own ways.

Test And Track Your Results

Another way of doing it is to try and use different texts on different pages. That way you will see which ones are working and the ones which aren’t producing any clicks. Try to mix things around also. Put links on top and sometimes on the bottom too. This is how you go about testing which ones get more clicks and which ones are being ignored.

Let the testing begin! Test and track until you find the site navigation styles and locations that work best for your site.
