After having received so many positive comments about my review for the Rich Jerk’s latest, hyped-up product, I felt I also needed to write today’s review about Undercover Profits. It’s the alternative product I’ve continously been mentioning as the better software. Well, that was until I read the salesletter just yesterday. The doors had opened for some special partners as an “early bird” special. (If you’re on Scott Boulch’s list, you should have received that announcement too).
Now that I have read the salesletter, I am not convinced anymore that you should get it. It’s still better than the Rich Jerk’s “X-Ray Affiliate Domination” script but… and this but is BIG…. Here are the main drawbacks in detail:
1.) Having seen the preview videos, I was of the opinion that the software would come with a pre-loaded database of keywords and campaigns that have been continously tracked over months by John and his staff. The salesletter is stating something different, though:
“First, grab some keywords and copy and paste them into your Undercover Profits account. Name the list so you remember what niche it’s for….
Keep inserting more keywords until you are now monitoring hundreds, to thousands of keywords…
Then, just set it and forget it… for a short while anyway. Undercover Profits does the rest…
It monitors what affiliate programs are being consistently advertised on any given keyword. Take a look at a sample of some real data, never seen before.”
Basically, the script is tracking keywords YOU have to insert yourself and then wait 15-30 days to get reliable data.
2.) Like the Rich Jerk’s product, this one comes with a hefty price tag, too. And it’s not just a one time fee but a monthly fee. The price will be $291 per MONTH. Meaning, in 3 months you would have paid the same price the Rich Jerk is asking for his product and you will continue to do so until you cancel your membership. That’s more than $3000 per year! You need to have big pockets for this.
3.) You only get a guarantee time of 7 days. In other words, you won’t even be able to track a campaign in detail for one month and THEN after you have the results from your tracking decide if it’s for you.
4.) There’s a desktop tool available that does all what Undercover Profits does at a fraction of the price: Keyword Elite by Brad Callen. If you visit Brad’s salesletter, you can view several videos there about what Keyword Elite does. I want you to pay special attention to Project no. 5 and watch the video where the headline says: “Steal Your Competitors Profitable Adwords Keywords By Discovering Exactly Which Keywords Are Making Them Money!”.
You’ll see that I am right: Keyword Elite tracks profitable Keywords, it also stores the Adword ads being used and the URLs, meaning you get to see which affiliates are consistently advertising there.
On the positive side: With Undercover Profits, you won’t have to spend your own money before starting a campaign. That’s exactly what was promised so what the videos said was true. But it does not do more. Keyword Elite gives you all of that too and MUCH, MUCH MORE (just the keyword list feature or being able to see the Adwords click prices -CPC- for each keyword is highly profitable in itself)! And at a one time fee which is much lower than just 1 month of being a member of Undercover Profits…
So even though I am quite disappointed about my recommendation myself ( I would have become a member of Undercover Profits if it were worth it ), I can only say:
Don’t become a member of Undercover Profits (unless you have some spare money you want to get rid of) – get Keyword Elite instead if you want to be able to track your keywords in the PPC search engines.
Moreover, Keyword Elite allows you to track the costs across several different PPCs so you’re not just dependent on Google Adwords. And, as an added bonus, it will show you what the high CPC prices are for any keyword on Google Adwords. Meaning, you can even use it for creating your Adsense pages and create pages based on the highest paying keywords.
Now I am asking you: Am I really the only one who can see what’s going on here???
Keyword Elite is the cheaper alternative, it’s a desktop tool and does all Undercover Profits does and much, much more (hey, creating huge keyword lists anyone…?)!! In my opinion, these 2 pieces of software, the Rich Jerk’s and Undercover Profits have just ripped off Brad Callen’s idea and created server side versions instead. I can see nothing really innovative here.
Keyword Elite is also perfect for doing Adsense Arbitrage campaigns (paying low prices on certain keywords and directing the traffic to high paying Adsense pages).
If you decide that Keyword Elite is for you, then I want to make this decision even easier for you: You’ll get FREE ACCESS to both membership sites which I mentioned in earlier campaigns already if you get it from my link: Saving your time AND Learning to earn online
Just click on any instance of the hyperlinked “Keyword Elite” on this page (which is my affiliate link) and after your purchase you just paste your Clickbank receipt (or just the order number) into my HelpDesk:

Thanks a bunch, the name Ethical Marketer suits you down to the ground.

This is absolute truth!!
I saw the price. Have I then reflected?
Then I have read your resume.
In some minutes without regret
I have closed this page.
Many thanks for your fair review.
Very much would like to learn your
opinion about:
Competition Dominator
The Multiplier Method ™
Xtreme Conversions
Thanks again,
Vlad.
PS. I am happy owner of the Keyword Elite.
Hi, Detlev
thank you for your honest review of yet another IM product. Keep up your excellent work.
Wow!
Once again you’ve got a great write up there Detlev. I was expecting a fairly high price on Undercover Profits since it was really being hyped, but $291/month was higher than I ever thought it would be. As soon as I saw the price, I closed the page and thought – “oh well”. lol Just another tool to help the rich get richer!
Thanks again for your honest review.

Hi Detlev,
Brilliant! I believe Europe needs you. Like most people who have been round the block a few times I get very tired of the US hype and fluff. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve learnt to love having all my buttons pushed…that’s how I learn to write copy…but at the end of the pitch I don’t actually know if the product is any good. I can’t afford to keep buying and trying!
Keep doing what you are doing, there must be thousands of us that really value your opinion.
I have at least 10 programmes that I am dying to buy but….
Kind regards,
Rayzee.
If I buy Keyword elite from your link what free membership sites do I receive. Your order form is not specific and I never saw your previous campaigns.
You wrote an excellent article exactly what i needed to here, paying $290 per month is crazy.

Thanks for such an honest review. I get fed up with so many Gurus licking unmentionable places when there is a launch. Just the old pals act which really turns me off. But then, I’m English!
Detlev:
Thanks for pointing out “over-hyped” doesn’t mean the best. I am becoming more jaded and cynical about products that are being heavily endorsed. That sales copy that tells me you have to take advantage of this first offering / you’ll miss out if… / or one time only offer releases remind me of the negative aspect of used car sales pitches.
To me it goes back to the premise of — if you have to state how honest and ethical you are then I have to wonder why.
Hi folks,
I agree that the monthly price is pretty steep.
One thing that does come to mind which keyword Elite doesn’t do is actually find you the winners based on random keywords. With keyword Elite I believe you have to specify the web site you want to monitor.
Whereas Undercover Profits seems to go out and find web sites (affiliate programs) and ads that are performing simply based on keywords (themes).
To me this opens up brand new doors in niches that you may not be familiar with.
Is my understanding above correct?
cheers
Bob, the membership sites you can get free access to are “Saving your time” and “Learning to earn online”. They are linked in the article. You just need to click on the hyperlinks next to the Keyword Elite e-cover box.
Detlev
Hi Ray,
Thanks for the compliment
Yes, I am tired of all the hype, too. And that’s why I decided that I want to tell my readers where the hype is “justified” and where it’s not. It seems that these guys can’t sell their products without the hype – especially if they have a pricing structure like that.
And we have to pay for their lifestylye…
I don’t mind paying good money for a product – if it is really useful/helpful. But paying a thousand bucks one time or $291 on a recurring basis is something that I would only do for absolutely unique, top notch products.
Both products do not live up to the expectations they have been trying to build up beforehand… and someone had to say that!
All the best,
Detlev
Hi Hani,
yes, that is correct. You still have to enter your keywords into the script, though. This means that you got to have at least an idea of what kind of keywords could be profitable. You can’t just enter “sky” or “fire” and expect to find super profitable niches with it.
And knowing those keywords, you could reverse engineer it, enter them into a search engine and then see which URL’s are being advertised. Then you enter them into Keyword Elite, track them and achieve (almost) the same effect.
I agree that if you are entering hundreds or thousands of keywords into Undercover Profits that it would probably find some niches you wouldn’t be thinking of. By the time you have discovered these niches, it could happen that several of the other users of Undercover Profits discover the same niche, making it less profitable for you.
Maybe, I need to paste the email here which I sent to John Jonas, creator of Undercover Profits… I will do this in a new comment.
Detlev
Here is the email, I sent to John Jonas, creator of Undercover Profits.

Hello John,
just a quick question for the promotion today: Could you
please explain to me how your product is different from
Keyword Elite which offers this tracking option as one of
its’ many features?
I mean project no. 5 on the main salesletter of Keyword
Elite:
www.keywordelite.com/index2.htm
From your videos, I’ve thought that your software would
come pre-filled with thousands of keywords which you and
your staff had been tracking over months. And now it seems
that the user still has to add his own keywords and then
track them over a month or so (I saw the salesletter yester-
day from Scott Boulch’s promotion…).
Am I right in saying so? Or did I miss something?
I would appreciate a quick reponse as I am about to send
out an email to my list about it.
Thanks and best regards,
Detlev Reimer

It remained unswered. If his software were that much superior, he probably would have given me a detailed explanation as to how his software is actually worth paying $291/month for.
Another one of my subscribers did the same thing and sent him an email asking for an explanation of the difference between his and a competitor’s product. It went unanswered too! I think, this says a lot…
Detlev
Hi Detlev,
Completely agree with all your comments and strongly recommend anyone who isn’t currently using Keyword Elite should at least check out Brad’s sales letter and watch the videos,… this will tell you all you need to know, and it won’t cost you a dime.
Many thanks,
Pete
Hello Detlev! Found your blog while searching for reviews/bonuses for UCP Your’s the most honest review so far – Thanks!
Been a while since the last comment here, so I’m wondering if you’ve heard from them re: comparison with KeywordElite’s Project 5?
Hani’s observation above sounds like the main differentiator between the two. For KWE you need to specify the website to be monitored, whereas for UCP you just dump the keywords and have it tell you what websites is worth promoting?
Question is whether it alone is worth the monthly price. I guess I’ll have to take the plunge and blog on it later myself.
(Hi, Hani. Nice to ‘meet’ you here… small world huh?
I have to agree. UCP sucks! I was a member for two days and you know its just not worth it. The thing is once you actually find affiliates on certain keywords then guess what its called hand to hand combat. Because believe me they are not just going to sit back and watch you step right in and take their money. It will be a bidding war for sure.
Oh btw I have keyword elite and it does the same damn thing as ucp.
