Carlos & Lupe Garcia – Traffic Tactics review and a look behind the scenes…

Carlos and Lupe Garcia – Two new rising stars on the Internet marketing scene…?

In case you haven’t heard about them so far, here are the direct links to their videos:

I guess, like many Internet marketers you’ve been intrigued by their videos which were spread through many high profile Internet marketers. You were not the only one who was interested in discovering what this “next big thing” was which they were trying to push with their tactics. I was really looking forward to seeing what this was all about.

After all, in their videos they were showing how their websites received millions of hits and they were telling that they were making 5 million dollars per MONTH… And all this without the search engines or huge mailing lists.

But it seems that there also is a different reality behind it. I mean, who in their right mind would be showing these tactics to the world if they were making them $5,000,000 per MONTH in exchange for what would seem “pocket change” for them? No one – exactly! So why are they doing it and what were they trying to push with their videos…?

Well, the main reason why they have been selling their strategies seems to be because they are not working anymore. Just like I said in my review for Project Black Mask, these guys (and gals) are only selling that kind of techniques if they notice they are becoming ineffective. Or what other reasons could they have when they are showing their traffic stats from 2004/2005? Why aren’t they giving current stats? Internet marketing is so fast lived, new techniques can become ineffective in as little as 6 months.

Ineffectiveness of the techniques was the case with Portal Sites (at least for the average user, maybe not for “hard core black hatters”) and it also seems to be the case with the traffic tactics Carlos and Lupe are putting up for sale. And of course, I knew it wouldn’t be cheap. But what I saw yesterday when I followed the link in their email really made my jaw drop:

You’ll have to pay a $2500 deposit upfront to register your seat for their next coaching program and the rest is collected via the phone once everything has been confirmed. And now hold your seat: It’s $25,000.00 all in all!

This is the exact wording:

“To reserve your seat you only need to put a deposit of $2,500 right now, and we’ll be collecting the remainder of the payment over the phone after you complete this sign up form.”

Another gem from their signup page:

“If you think about it $25,000.00 divided over a one year period is only $67.00 a day!”

– Oh, why didn’t you tell me this before? Just $67 a day… now that’s what I call affordable – lol …..

But it seemed to working… The traffic workshop/coaching program has officially sold out!

Even if it were still a very effective method (and it isn’t because their current Alexa rank is 2,759,627 and everything higher than 500,000 is not getting a lot of traffic) – it simply wouldn’t be affordable to the average Internet marketer and only the ones who are already making good money would be able to afford it.

And on top of that…

… Remember what kind of deals they were talking about in their videos? Something like a $163,000 deal with Advertising.com and $300,000 deal with Yahoo.com which according to them was done on credit. You need to have a very appealing and good selling product in order to make money from deals like that. Most people don’t even get that kind of credit and if they do get it, they must be very careful. If you’re not making enough sales because of a bad conversion rate, you might be paying off debt for the rest of your life!!

The reason why they were doing so well was because their advertising was hyped up. The products they were selling (e.g. cable descramblers and diet patches) did not live up to their promises and according to Eric Holmlund’s blog, they might even face some law suits. According to Eric, the FTC ordered them to shut down their diet patches business (Eric says it’s not yet confirmed, though).

Most likely than not, they are pushing their coaching program to replace the income they lost and maybe even to cover their lawyer’s fees…!

wow! now that is a great no holds barred review….

i agree 100% with you about them revealing their system..if i was making a killing doing that i would not even bother spending the time teaching others… why ??? i could make a lot more quietly working the system

also… that market is like you said very hard.. you have to spend money to make money ..

the same thing with trackback spider released recently .. i did sign up .. but then cancelled.. it was spammy but on top of that….you know that once the market floods with the technique then you will be screwed cause it aint going to work.

i think that most of the real secrets are held close to the chest of those that make money off them ..

like i said.. if i found a way to make 100k per month sitting on my $#!#$ by doing some real hokey stuff on google ..would i tell anyone… hell no … my first call would be to india to see who can i hire to scale and make more ..lol

great website… finally someone that tells it like it is ..

Thank you for such a great review. I feel the same way you do about their program. It just seems interesting to me that they would show stats dating 2 or 3 years back. It seems like they sold a bunhc of garbage, and I feel terrible for the people that are spending $25,000 just to speak with them!

I have been getting these emails showing the latest streaming video. Wondering when the real deal was going to be shown/offered, and also wondering the exact same thing.
Why would anybody quietly making ludicrous amounts of money, even bother with training/conferences etc.
Answer….they wouldn’t. Unless they were struck by the I want to help others bug. Then I would suggest some good charities first!
Thanks for the review, confirmed what I had already surmised.
    It’s a crock.
I mean think about it, you’re getting a billion hits….from somewhere, via a link or a banner. Now work out how many hits the source site must be getting to give you that traffic. Name one site on the net that gets that amount of traffic?

Umm….Umm….Ummmm….I’ve been following Carlos and Lupe. At first I thought they were legit but after reading your review and doing some deep researching I can see the roaches coming out. It is possible that they have good traffic ideas but paying $25,000 to see if it works is like buying a car from “Bruno Ripsusoff”!

I agree they would have Lawyers costs to defend themselves. Some say the AMA came out against them for one and then there were the scramblers, who didn’t like them the most?.Not the buyers. So yes someone lowered the boom, alright and Carlos and Lupe were sinking fast. So who advised them to sell the information their Guru friends is my guess , sell information.
Carlos does advise people to monitor daily the results and have the option to stop the advertisering. Also to have prepared back up products to continue using the advertising. Not for the fainthearted thats for sure.I do agree. But they did make it work, for whatever the reasons those people are targeting them with litigation remains a mute point.

Does anyone know the system thet were using and why it would work?

    thanks

I am selling my copy of traffic tactics if anyone has any interest.

I am not going to defend the Garcia’s however some of these tactics are still quite valuable to this day.

    Hi Detlev,

I’m surprised that you would post such a review if you watched their videos. They are teaching how to make your online ads pull traffic through PPC, CPA Networks, and Banners. As you can see, this very blog is funded by banners and ads. So why would you say that doesn’t work?

I for one have used many of the tactics they suggest in their free videos and have gotten great results from applying them. The videos they give away for free have more content than entire courses that I’ve paid hundreds of dollars for.

If you visit their own blog at www.traffictacticsblog.com/blog you can see how what they teach is still working for the campaigns they run and for their students.

Let me ask you, have you really applied what they suggest in their videos? Or are you just criticizing for no reason?

  12. Detlev says:

    Hello Charles,

I was referring to the proof they had given which was completely outdated. That’s why it was not very believable. So if it works and you’re making money from it: Congratulations! But the average guy doesn’t have $25,000 to spend on the info, nor $5000-$10000 to get started – me either.

And by the way, my own blog is not financed/funded by these few small banners I put there and certainly those kind of ads would not be meant but rather something on Yahoo.com or the big advertising networks like Tribalfusion or Casale Media.

    Thanks,

    Detlev
